Prioritize

Moreover, do not accumulate debts. Make one repair, pay it off, then start on the next one.
One step at a time
Once the urgent repairs are done and paid for, go at it one step at a time. You might want to start by renovating one room completely. Do the repairs gradually. Once that room is done, go to the next one. Here is a tip: if you are planning to change the baseboards around the house, you might want to consider buying them all at the same time. If you buy them one room at a time, you are taking the chance of not finding the same model, especially if you are buying them at a liquidation outlet.
